Our Story
How We Get Started
In 2010, when my father, Bob Kap, passed away, a void was left that photos and fame couldn’t fill. While he was known in the NFL, European soccer, and as an avid videographer, his true self remained unchronicled. We all leave behind legacies, but often, the core of “who we really are” gets lost. Despite my own spotlight from interviews and articles, I realized that a picture or an online obituary can’t genuinely capture a soul. The real essence of a person goes beyond DNA labels on ancestry platforms or shared surnames.
Faced with this reality and the regret of not recording my father’s life story, I, alongside my friends, founded “God it’s me” in 2010. We envisioned a platform where everyone could be their own historian. Our goal? To enable every individual to share, store, and secure their unique narratives, transcending the limitations of traditional records. Now, with God it’s me, every life becomes a vital chapter in the grand tapestry of human history, immortalized in the digital age. Everyone’s story, every memory, every feeling deserves to be preserved and celebrated.
